Production Operator AM Mixer

Position Summary: Production Operators are responsible for mixing, forming, and packing food products according to food safety regulations. Provides break and/or meal relief for every production position on assigned shift. Duration of each assignment will vary according to operational needs but will generally not exceed 20 minutes. Requires constant interaction with work group and other departments at the primary work location. Position requires demonstration of competency for all on-the-job activities that may have a direct or indirect effect on food product production, safety, and quality.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Mixes ingredients according to company directions
  • Loads mixtures into machines
  • Safely runs machines and notifies supervisor of any problems with machinery
  • Sets up packing supplies according to company protocol
  • Safely packages product according to protocols
  • Ensures that production and outsourced labor are properly instructed in the care and safe operation of equipment and monitors employee use of such equipment
  • Reviews records and procedures to ensure proper use of time and materials
  • Performs continuous inspections of the product to ensure quality standards are met
  • Ensures that all equipment is in good operating condition
  • Promotes positive employee relations and interdepartmental communication and cooperation
  • Ensures a safe working environment for all personnel through enforcement of safety policies and procedures, including inspections and periodic safety meetings, etc.
  • Plans and adjusts work assignments as necessary
  • Position may be responsible for operating the facility metal detector(s), which requires full training and certification
  • Assists with employee training
  • Demonstrated ability to perform routine production tasks in accordance with applicable standards as directed by supervisor or person in charge
  • Practices and complies with all Company policies and procedures including safety and work rules, etc.
  • Performs other duties as directed by supervision
  • Ability to stand without rest for 8-hour increments
  • Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds without assistance

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Six months previous experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Six months of previous job history
  • Dependable transportation
  • Ability to follow company policies, practices, procedures.
  • Willingness to learn

Preferred Qualifications


  • 6 months previous experience in a food manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience with Red Zone
  • Understanding of SQF, GMP’s, FSMA, People Safety, Food Safety, Food Quality requirements
  • Clear understanding and proven abilities in managing multiple, often conflicting, priorities
  • Requires knowledge and ability to perform as backup to any assembly/test position
