Production Planner

JOB TITLE: PRODUCTION PLANNER

SUMMARY
:
Plans the entire manufacturing pre-press operations, which entail providing quotations for customer service representatives, setting up BOM, Route and Item spec for new items, ensuring that artwork is created and correct for each item, and prepare sketches & drawings to clarify instructions, & provide other relevant information. Schedule productions if needed.

DUTIES:
  • Prepares defined work packages, including detailed instructions, drawings, bills of material, references, inspection requirements, etc., to initiate and control production work
  • Is able to use drawing software to give a graphical representation of how items are produced on the manufacturing floor
  • Is able to create a quotation in the ERP system to generate a sell price for the item as well as determine the cost and markup on the item
  • Analyzes master plan to determine priority of production orders outputted to the floor
  • Is able to determine the capacity of a resource center and see the reserved capacity of that resource center in order to see which orders are producible in a given amount of time.
  • May be required to schedule productions as needed
  • Orders tooling when necessary to be used in production
  • Obtains CTS positives from Art Department to output with production orders
  • Analyzes all information on "item detail sheet" to assure accuracy.
  • Examines item quotation to assure that production processes are reflected correctly on the order.
  • Determines if enough raw material is available to manufacture certain items and notifies purchasing if there is insufficient supply on hand
  • Consults with production manager if uncertain about certain operations and procedures
  • Consults with customer service representative if unclear about construction details provided by customer
  • Continually updates item information in computer database from production floor "feedback"
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor


QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or Experience:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Must have strong basic computer, and typing skills
  • Ability to perform basic math functions
  • Must be fluent in English

Must have the ability to apply information and variables learned from one task or project to other similar situations. Must determine how information is interpreted on the production floor.

Shift Schedule: 07:00 a.m. to 03:30 p.m. Monday Thru Friday
