Production Planning Coordinator

Job Summary

Provides support to the Production Planner by executing routine tasks related to material resource planning, including accurate data entry into the enterprise system and coordinating scheduling activities to meet both internal and external customer requirements.

Job Description

  • Analyze work orders to estimate the manpower hours and equipment resources required. Compute amounts of stock required for operations based on production schedules, and order materials as required.
  • Enter data into enterprise material resource planning system. Run customer order planning form for all customer orders. Match ship date and quantities to customer order. Inspect customer order planning form to make sure all pertinent customer requirements are met.
  • Interface with plant production and shipping supervisors, lab personnel, customer services representatives and sales to ensure that changes in production schedule or customer needs are fully communicated.
  • Determine delivery times and load times for bulk loads; communicate and follow-up with factory and process engineers to resolve timing issues. Ensure export paperwork if forwarded to shipping as required
  • Coordinate product sample draw and shipment of all product samples with plant personnel.

WORK ENVIRONMENT / EHS RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties of this job are normally performed in an office environment; occasionally required to walk through and perform tasks in a plant production and shipping environment. May also be required to lift up to 30 lbs. occasionally.
Must be able to wear required PPE.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

Key Education or Certification Required

  • High School or GED equivalent required or degree in relative field preferred.

Required Minimum Number of Years of Relevant Experience

  • 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Must have some knowledge of plant resources, manufacturing capabilities and production requirements in order to obtain optimum utilization, and safe operation
  • Experience with enterprise resource management software (JDE) highly preferred.
  • Excellent prioritization skills
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal direction
