Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Production Planning Engineer to manage and optimize production planning, scheduling, material coordination, and fabrication activities within our steel fabrication facility. The successful candidate will ensure smooth workflow between Engineering, Procurement, Production, Quality, and Dispatch departments to achieve project delivery targets while maximizing productivity and resource utilization.

Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Planning & Scheduling

  • Prepare and maintain detailed production schedules based on project priorities and delivery requirements.
  • Develop weekly and monthly fabrication plans for workshop operations.
  • Allocate fabrication workloads across production bays and work centers.
  • Monitor fabrication progress against approved production schedules.
  • Prepare recovery plans to mitigate production delays.

Production Coordination

  • Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, QA/QC, and Project teams to ensure uninterrupted production flow.
  • Review fabrication drawings and production requirements before release to the shop floor.
  • Ensure production activities align with project schedules and delivery commitments.
  • Monitor bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to improve productivity.

Material Planning & Control

  • Coordinate with Procurement and Stores regarding material availability.
  • Track material shortages and expedite procurement requirements.
  • Monitor material consumption and utilization.
  • Ensure materials are available prior to fabrication commencement.

Production Monitoring

  • Track daily fabrication output and production performance.
  • Monitor cutting, fitting, welding, assembly, blasting, painting, and dispatch activities.
  • Analyze productivity trends and prepare improvement recommendations.
  • Ensure fabrication targets are achieved within planned timelines.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Production Reports.
  • Generate production progress dashboards and KPI reports.
  • Prepare manpower utilization reports and fabrication status reports.
  • Maintain production records, schedules, and planning databases.

Resource Management

  • Monitor manpower allocation and machine utilization.
  • Coordinate overtime requirements based on project priorities.
  • Ensure efficient utilization of fabrication resources.
  • Support production teams in achieving planned output targets.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance productivity.
  • Implement lean manufacturing and production optimization initiatives.
  • Reduce production downtime and wastage.
  • Support quality and safety improvement programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Additional certification in Production Planning or Project Management is an advantage.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 4–8 years of experience in Production Planning within Steel Fabrication, Structural Steel, PEB, or Heavy Manufacturing industries.
  • Strong knowledge of fabrication processes including cutting, fitting, welding, assembly, blasting, and painting.
  • GCC/UAE experience preferred.
  • Experience handling multiple fabrication projects simultaneously.

  • Experience in Structural Steel Fabrication and PEB Manufacturing.
  • Strong planning, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong understanding of workshop production processes.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive problem-solving approach.
  • Immediate joiners preferred.
