Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage daily and weekly production schedules based on job priorities and deadlines.
- Perform nesting operations for CNC cutting machines (e.g., plasma, laser, oxy-fuel) to optimize material utilization.
- Coordinate with the procurement and inventory teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials based on production needs.
- Review fabrication drawings and ensure necessary resources (material, manpower, machine time) are in place.
- Monitor machine efficiency, downtime, and productivity.
- Liaise with production floor supervisors and machine operators to troubleshoot delays or issues.
- Ensure proper documentation of job progress, material usage, and machine output.
- Collaborate with the design and detailing teams to ensure correct file formats and data for nesting.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical/Industrial/Production Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in production planning, preferably in a steel fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in nesting software (e.g., Sigmanest, ProNest, Hypertherm, etc.).
- Good understanding of fabrication machines (CNC plasma, laser, bending, shearing, etc.).
- Strong skills in MS Excel, ERP/MRP systems, and production tracking tools.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and BOMs.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and process improvement.
- Experience working with ERP systems
- Familiarity with Tekla, AutoCAD, or other drafting software is an added advantage.
