Job Title

Production Planning Specialist II

Responsible for coordinating the work of various departments involved in the production of high quality products.

The Production Planner is responsible for creating, managing, and adjusting production schedules to support a high-mix manufacturing environment. This role partners closely with manufacturing, engineering, commercial teams, and inventory control to ensure accurate planning, material readiness, and on-time delivery. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-driven, and able to think both strategically and tactically—especially as the organization transitions from QAD to SAP.

Key Responsibilities

Production Control & Planning

  • Develop and maintain the production schedule based on demand, capacity, and material availability.

  • Plan and sequence production orders; prepare and audit work order packets.

  • Track production throughout the process, identify delays, and adjust schedules as needed.

ERP & Systems

  • Perform planning and material movement transactions within QAD or the supported ERP system; support the upcoming transition to SAP.

  • Assist with data accuracy, system setup, and process improvements during ERP migration.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Communicate schedule changes, constraints, and material needs to all internal cross-functional teams.

  • Review engineering changes (ECFs) and adjust production plans accordingly.

Execution & Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor and support schedule adherence.

  • Identify root causes of discrepancies and implement corrective actions.

  • Support process improvements in planning, inventory management, and ERP utilization.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong Excel and analytical skills.

  • ERP experience (QAD or similar) required; experience transitioning an ERP system to SAP is highly desirable.

  • 3+ years in production planning, master scheduling, production control, or operations planning in manufacturing (high-volume or high-mix preferred).

  • Strong customer- and service-oriented approach; proven ability to work cross-functionally.

  • Demonstrated initiative, strategic thinking, and ability to influence planning decisions.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred OR 8+ years of equivalent experience.

  • APICS/CPIM certification is a plus.

Target Hiring Range

: USD 60,000.00 - USD 74,000.00
