Production Superintendent

This position is responsible for directing the efforts of the Production Supervisors and Team Leads in order to meet business requirements for the efficient production of metal in an industrial environment. Under the direction of the Department Manager, the Superintendent is responsible for ensuring a safe and productive work environment. This position is responsible to establish overall department and business objectives and is accountable for overall team development.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Ensure the team is safely producing the highest quality product in accordance with Plant Quality Standards
  • Manager hourly and salary work schedules in Paycom
  • Direct, develop and evaluate supervisors
  • Drive compliance to Safety, Quality and Environmental Certifications and regulations in the assigned area
  • Oversee equipment usage, allocation and maintenance
  • Ensures all data and reports are completed
  • Implement department Initiatives
  • Ability to translate business objectives into meaningful and achievable business goals for the department
  • Operational knowledge regarding process, equipment capability, practices and systems
  • Strong mechanical and process aptitude preferred
  • Ability to handle multiple projects/assignments concurrently and be results orientated

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Operational knowledge regarding process, equipment capability, practices, systems.
  • Strong understanding of material handling, inventory management, and shipping documentation
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with individuals and teams at all levels of the organization.
  • Able to work flexible hours as production needs are required
  • Associate's degree with 2 years of manufacturing experience or 5 years manufacturing experience required, preferably in aluminum manufacturing.
  • 3+ years' experience in a supervisory and/or leadership role required.
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, logistics, shipping, or warehouse operations

Preferred Skills

  • Strong mechanical and process aptitude preferred
  • Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives
  • Self-directed with discipline work habits and strong organizational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, particularly with Excel and other computer related programs
