Today Torn & Glasser is an importer, processor, and packer of nuts, dried fruits, beans, rice, spices, candies, and grains.

Torn & Glasser located in Pomona, California is looking to hire a qualified 2nd Shift Production Supervisor. Qualified candidates must be able to work flexible schedule Monday through Friday with some weekends from 2:00pm - 11:00pm (schedule will vary based on production).

Production Supervisors are responsible for the efficient manufacturing of manufacturing production teams. This role will be in charge of operations/change overs of specified machinery, safety, efficiency, and product quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Assess and train employees on full-cycle production processes, including roasting, blending, canning, fulfillment, labeling, weighing and manifesting of production work orders research and testing.

· Inspects, analyzes and recommends ways of improving quality and efficiency in production activities.

· Demonstrates a high degree of ownership for product quality: Performs all standard quality checks & other quality related duties.

· Ensures highest quality of handling, processing and storage of raw materials.

· Oversees highest standard of allergens/cross-contamination protocols.

· Develops a schedule and priorities for production of goods, including resource requirements based on production volume.

· Investigates and help determine root cause of complaints, providing process improvement as necessary to prevent repeat occurrence.

· Assess equipment operating reliability and perform routine repairs, adjustments and malfunction troubleshooting; coordinate with Production Manager.

- Coach, mentor and develop Production Department Staff to meet production and quality goals and standards, while striving to reduce turnover.

- Ensures compliance to GMP, Food Safety, Food Defense and Food Quality regulatins as required by the Compnay, Customers, and/or government legislations, including timely communications to appropriate facility management of any non-confrmity issues or violatiosn found.

- Ensures enforcement of all job safety requirements.

Skills and Qualifications:

· Associates Degree or equivalent experience.

· Production management is required; 3-5 years experience in a supervisory position preferred.

· Ability to communicate in English orally and in writing with vendors, customers and co-workers; Fluency in verbal and written Spanish preferred.

· Proficiency in MS Office, Word, Excel and Outlook.

· Knowledge of time systems, inventory systems, WMS.

· Solid problem solving and decision making skills.

· Willingness to work holidays and weekends as we are a 24/7 business operating through most weekends and holidays.

- Working knowledge of FDA and USDA regulations, HACCP Food Safety, GMP's, SSOP's and Allergens.

· Successful completion of a post offer physical, drug screen and background check is required.
