Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated, skilled Production Supervisor to join our team at ONICON Incorporated. The ideal candidate will lead a diverse, skilled team of 40+ employees in the manufacturing process. The supervisor oversees daily production activities while driving data-informed decision-making, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role blends hands-on floor leadership with analytical responsibilities to enhance throughput, quality, and cost performance.

Strong technical aptitude and computer skills are essential in this role. The successful candidate will be comfortable analyzing production data, developing reports and dashboards, identifying performance trends, and converting insights into practical operational improvements.

In addition, this individual will ensure compliance with all manufacturing, environmental, and safety standards; proactively identify opportunities to improve process efficiency and equipment reliability; and maintain clear, consistent communication with Operations leadership to ensure alignment and awareness of manufacturing needs and priorities.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop production personnel to drive accountability, operational discipline, and measurable performance outcomes aligned with safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
  • Translate company goals into shift-level execution plans by setting clear performance expectations, monitoring KPIs, and evaluating results against established targets.
  • Utilize production data and system reporting (ERP/MES/BI tools) to assess throughput, downtime, scrap, and efficiency, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Drive quality and customer satisfaction through performance monitoring, measurable process controls, and effective resource management.
  • Encourage and foster a team environment of cooperation and buy-in on ideas from all team members.
  • Manage production team members to maximize quality and production efficiency.
  • Recruit, select, assist in onboarding, train, and mentor team members.
  • Lead daily production planning activities, including scheduling, resource allocation, priority setting, and real-time adjustments to meet customer demand.
  • Ensure the operation of equipment through evaluation, training, maintenance, and requesting repairs as needed.
  • Lead and uphold quality by establishing and enforcing environmental and quality standards.
  • Compile, analyze, and communicate production performance metrics to Operations, Sales, and Customer Service to support informed decision-making and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Support plant-wide objectives by improving operational efficiency, reducing scrap and rework, and driving sustainable process improvements.
Knowledge and Skills Requirement:
  • 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing or operations, including supervising, mentoring, and developing teams to manage workloads effectively.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, organize, and guide a diverse team.
  • Excellent time and process management skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate across teams and levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with experience using data to drive operational improvements.
  • Skilled in conflict resolution, negotiation, and facilitating positive team dynamics.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to work extended hours when required to meet production goals.
  • Knowledge of health, environmental, and safety regulations.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or related field a plus).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps) or similar tools.
  • Experience in Microsoft Navision (BC) a plus.
