Job Title: Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift
Reports to: Director of Operations
Hours: 6pm–2:30AM (Mon–Friday)
Summary statement:
The Butter Plant Supervisor provides leadership and overall direction in all areas of safety, quality, cost, delivery and morale. Responsible for driving improved performance, customer relationships, Plant asset utilization, and positive employee relations. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to developing and executing the site budget within Company guidelines. Manage all Plant resources to optimize profitability to meet or exceed internal and external customer expectations. Creating a positive work environment that supports continuous improvement, reinforces Company philosophy and policies, and ensuring a diverse and inclusive workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
Manages, plans and schedules daily operations of the Plant.
Highly involved with the Quality aspect of the Plant.
Oversees all Plant functions, including production, processing, quality, sanitation, maintenance, purchasing, safety and environmental.
Ensures the manufacturing and packaging of a safe, quality product while maintaining a safe and motivated workforce.
Drives Food Safety initiatives at Plant level working with Operations and Quality Assurance teams.
Provides strong leadership, direction, guidance and support to leadership team and Plant personnel.
Develops positive, motivating and efficient communication with all employees at all levels.
Drafts department policy and protocols; supports corporate policy development.
Assists with HACCP management system plans and its implementation.
Ensures Plant complies with FDA regulations and guidelines.
Assists with SQF accreditation by maintaining quality requirements as outlined in SQF code.
Conducts Quality and SQF employee training as needed.
Performs other projects as assigned.
FSSC section 5.3.3 "All persons shall have the responsibility to report problem(s) with regards to the FSMS to identified person(s)"
Qualifications, Education and Experience:
2+ years of demonstrated work experience in production in a Food Manufacturing or Food Processing environment, preferably dairy.
2+ years of supervisory experience, preferred.
Basic computer skills and competency in MS Office.
Knowledge of OSHA requirements
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Physical Demands & Work Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and communicate with others. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally move and/or lift up to 50 pounds with assistance. See in the normal visual range with or without correction; vision sufficient to read computer screens and printed documents. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. The employee is frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Must be able to work in heat and cold/inclement weather.
Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
