Job Summary
The Pack Out Production Supervisor is responsible for directing and managing all Pack Out and packaging operations to ensure production goals, labor efficiency, quality standards, food safety requirements, and employee safety expectations are consistently achieved. This role oversees daily packaging line operations, staffing coordination, employee supervision, and continuous improvement initiatives within the production environment.
The Pack Out Production Supervisor serves as a leader on the production floor, ensuring operational efficiency while maintaining compliance with company policies, USDA/FDA regulations, GMPs, HACCP standards, and all food safety and workplace safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Operations Management
• Direct and supervise all Pack Out and packaging line operations to meet daily production goals and schedules
- Monitor production efficiency, downtime, waste, yields, and labor utilization to maximize operational performance
- Ensure packaging lines operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality and food safety standards
- Coordinate production priorities and scheduling with Plant Management, Maintenance, QA, Warehouse, and other departments
- Ensure proper staffing levels are maintained daily to support operational needs
- Monitor line changeovers and startup/shutdown procedures to minimize downtime
- Oversee packaging material usage and coordinate with inventory and warehouse teams as needed
- Ensure all production documentation, downtime reports, and operational records are completed accurately and timely
- Promote and support continuous improvement initiatives throughout the production process
- Assist in troubleshooting operational issues related to equipment, packaging, staffing, and workflow
Employee Supervision & Leadership
• Supervise and coordinate employee activities including work assignments, rotation, attendance, and break schedules
- Provide leadership, coaching, training, and development to packaging associates and lead personnel
- Communicate production expectations, company policies, and departmental goals clearly to team members
- Track employee performance and provide coaching, disciplinary action, and corrective action as needed
- Support employee engagement and maintain a positive work environment focused on accountability and teamwork
- Conduct shift meetings and communicate operational updates and safety expectations
- Assist with onboarding and training of new employees within the department
- Promote cross-training and employee development opportunities
Food Safety & Quality Assurance
• Ensure compliance with all food safety programs, GMPs, HACCP procedures, USDA/FDA regulations, and company quality standards
- Verify product specifications, labeling accuracy, packaging integrity, and coding requirements are met
- Ensure all safety devices and quality control systems including Metal Detectors, X-Ray systems, Label Applicators, and Scan Guns are functioning properly
- Partner with QA to address product holds, quality concerns, and corrective actions
- Maintain sanitation and housekeeping standards throughout the department
Safety & Compliance
• Promote a culture where employee safety and product safety are the highest priorities
- Ensure compliance with all OSHA guidelines and company safety procedures
- Conduct routine safety observations and address unsafe conditions or behaviors immediately
- Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective actions when necessary
- Ensure associates utilize proper PPE and safe work practices at all times
Administrative Responsibilities
• Maintain attendance, scheduling, labor tracking, and production records
- Prepare reports related to productivity, staffing, downtime, and departmental performance
- Utilize company systems including ERP M3, Infinity, Insperity, and Microsoft Office applications
- Communicate operational updates and departmental needs effectively to management
- Support audits, inspections, and compliance initiatives as required

Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a food manufacturing or packaging environment required
- Experience supervising production or packaging associates in a fast-paced manufacturing environment preferred
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet production deadlines
- Working knowledge of food safety standards, GMPs, HACCP, and OSHA requirements preferred
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel
- Experience with ERP M3, Infinity, Insperity, and production tracking systems preferred
- Knowledge of packaging equipment including KAC Mac systems, Metal Detectors, X-Ray systems, Label Applicators, Transfer Belts, and Scan Guns preferred
- Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and 2nd shift schedules as needed
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

• Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and use hands to handle or operate equipment and controls
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, and production conditions
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to wear required PPE and comply with all food safety and safety requirements
