Production Technician I

Schedule: Mon -Thu 7 am- 5:30 pm


IN A NUTSHELL…

As a Production Technician, you will be essential to the processing and production of high-quality cannabis products. This role involves participating in all aspects of the production process, including extraction, packaging, and quality assurance. You will collaborate closely with the Production Manager and your team to maintain an efficient and productive work environment. This position requires working in various environments, which may include exposure to high temperatures in outdoor greenhouse settings as well as in climate-controlled indoor facilities.

The cannabis industry is constantly evolving, so you must be open to learning and implementing new technologies and methods to improve efficiency and effectiveness.


WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

General Responsibilities Across All Departments
  • Independently, production equipment operates upon certification and training.
  • Accurately complete batch records, audit forms, inventory logs, and regulatory documentation.
  • Support production and packaging lines by setting the pace, conducting quality checks, and reporting discrepancies.
  • Crosstrain and rotate across various sub-departments while adhering to safety and quality standards.
  • Maintain clean, sanitized, and organized work areas.
  • Collaborate with Leads and Supervisors to execute production schedules and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Other duties might be assigned based on business needs

Area-Specific Contributions
  • Extraction: support the extraction team, ensuring safe and efficient production of cannabis concentrates.
  • Lab Work: Assist with sample preparation and compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Packaging: Package products accurately, including labeling, weighing, and sealing for distribution.
  • Quality Control: Perform quality checks throughout the production process and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Sanitation: Clean and sanitize equipment and workspaces regularly to maintain hygiene and prevent contamination.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all state and local regulations, as well as the internal procedures of the company.
  • Team Collaboration: Work cooperatively with colleagues to support overall production goals.
  • Flower Processing: Perform all post-harvest processing, including harvest, drying, bucking, curing, trimming, machining, and remediation. This team is a critically important member of the Cultivation Team and ensures consumers receive the highest-quality Flower.
  • Other Duties: Perform other tasks assigned by the Production/Cultivation Manager to support operational success.

ESSENTIALS DUTIES

  • Assist with equipment used in the department and production of cannabis products, following safety and quality standards.
  • Prepare, package, and label products accurately and efficiently for distribution.
  • Conduct basic quality control inspections to ensure products meet company and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain clean and organized workspaces, including routine cleaning and sanitation of equipment and tools.
  • Accurately complete production records, logs, and inventory tracking documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to support daily operations.
  • Perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS YOU’LL BRING

Required

  • Age 21 or over
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Government-Issued Photo ID

Preferred

  • Previous experience working in a cannabis production facility, lab, or a related manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with quality control, policy, procedure, and documentation
  • Experience with cannabis extraction processes, lab procedures, knowledge of production techniques, and proficiency in using production-related software and tools.
  • Ability to learn new technologies
  • Ability to multitask and be aware of multiple active processes

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to consistently lift to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to be in a constant standing/moving position
  • Ability to perform various physical tasks such as lifting, standing, squatting, and repetitive motions.
  • Ability to wear the required PPE, including but not limited to safety glasses and safety shoes

GENERAL ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequent exposure to temperature (e.g., hot greenhouse environments and cold indoor rooms).
  • Exposure to environmental elements such as dust, fumes, allergens (including cannabis), plant material, and cleaning chemicals.
  • Work in areas with humidity and varying lighting or air conditioning levels.
