PRODUCTION TRAINER

About the Role:

The Production Trainer plays a critical role in ensuring that all production staff are thoroughly trained and equipped with the necessary skills to perform their duties efficiently and safely. This position focuses on developing, implementing, and continuously improving training programs that align with company standards and production goals. The Production Trainer collaborates closely with production managers and team leads to identify training needs and tailor content to meet those requirements. By fostering a culture of continuous learning and adherence to best practices, the trainer helps optimize production quality and operational efficiency. Ultimately, this role contributes to reducing errors, enhancing employee performance, and supporting the overall success of the production department.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in a production or manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of production processes.
  • Experience in training or instructional roles within a production or industrial setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse teams.
  • Ability to develop clear and concise training materials and deliver presentations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in training or instructional design (e.g., CPTD, ATD).
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning tools.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess training effectiveness and production performance.
  • Previous experience working in a unionized production environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deliver comprehensive training programs for new hires and existing production staff.
  • Conduct hands-on training sessions and workshops to ensure understanding and application of production processes and safety protocols.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics, making improvements as needed.
  • Collaborate with production supervisors to identify skill gaps and customize training materials accordingly.
  • Maintain up-to-date training documentation and ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies.
