Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Management
- Coordinate all interior finishing activities (flooring, painting, millwork, fixtures, specialty finishes)
- Develop and maintain detailed finishing schedules integrated with overall project timelines
- Manage critical path for finishing activities and identify potential delays • Implement mitigation strategies to maintain project momentum
- Ensure sequential completion and avoid trade conflicts
Contractor Management
- Oversee multiple specialty finishing contractors and trades
- Conduct regular contractor meetings to review progress and address issues
- Manage contractor submittals, approvals, and change orders • Maintain cost control and evaluate contractor performance
- Make recommendations for future project assignments
Drawing Coordination & Documentation
- Coordinate finishing drawings with architectural, engineering, and MEP disciplines
- Review and approve shop drawings, material samples, and specifications • Manage drawing revisions and distribute updates to stakeholders
- Maintain as-built documentation throughout finishing process • Ensure constructability and design intent compliance
Team Leadership
- Lead team of four direct reports (assistant PMs, coordinators, admin support)
- Assign tasks, set priorities, and monitor team performance • Provide mentoring and professional development opportunities
- Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews
Progress Reporting & Tracking
- Develop comprehensive progress reporting systems by area, floor, and trade
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports with photography and metrics
- Maintain real-time project dashboards for finishing activities
- Coordinate with project controls team on cost tracking and forecasting
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as primary client contact for finishing scope, progress, and issues
- Coordinate regular client walkthroughs and progress presentations
- Manage expectations and communicate schedule impacts or design changes
- Interface with building management, end users, and tenant representatives
Essential Skills & Competencies
Leadership & Communication
- Strong leadership abilities to motivate diverse teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to facilitate meetings and resolve conflicts diplomatically
- Experience with client presentations and contractor negotiations
Technical Knowledge
- Comprehensive understanding of interior finishing materials and methods
- Knowledge of building codes and accessibility requirements
- Familiarity with commercial construction quality standards
- Experience with sustainable building practices and LEED requirements
Project Management
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent activities
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Experience with change management and scope control
- Ability to maintain quality and schedule performance
Problem Solving
- Quick identification of issues and development of practical solutions
- Experience troubleshooting coordination conflicts between trades
- Ability to resolve design or constructability challenges under tight deadlines

- On-time completion of finishing milestones
- Adherence to quality standards and budget parameters
- Client satisfaction scores
