Professional Pet Sitter & Dog Walker

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Dog Walker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and the ability to provide exceptional care for dogs of various breeds and sizes. As a Dog Walker, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of pets while providing them with exercise and companionship during their walks. This role is perfect for individuals who enjoy being outdoors and have experience in pet care.

Responsibilities

• Walk dogs in various weather conditions, ensuring their safety at all times.
• Provide proper leash handling and control to prevent accidents or escapes.
• Monitor the behavior of dogs during walks, addressing any issues that may arise.
• Maintain communication with pet owners regarding their dog's behavior and any concerns.
• Clean up after dogs during walks to maintain a clean environment.
• Assist with basic pet care tasks as needed, such as feeding or administering medication.
• Build positive relationships with both pets and their owners through excellent customer service.

Requirements

• Good written skills
• Ability to take quality photos and operate a smart phone
• Prior experience in dog handling, pet sitting, or pet care is preferred.
• Strong understanding of animal behavior and handling techniques.
• Ability to manage multiple dogs safely during walks.
• Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners.
• Physical stamina to walk dogs for extended periods and in various terrains.
• Knowledge of dog training techniques is a plus but not required.

• Familiarity with equine care or pet grooming is an advantage but not mandatory.

• Dependability and punctuality is a must have in this position. Our clients' pets need us to be on time. Can you commit to this?
• Off hours availability to answer texts and phone calls - There are instances when we need someone to step up and help cover visits, can you commit to answering texts/phone calls when you are not scheduled to work
• We care for pets 365 days a year. Please confirm you can work holidays.
• Do you live in Summerville? If not, list location. This helps us understand drive times and scheduling.
• Must be available to work any day of the week, weekends included (7am-8pm). Hours are not consecutive, but we offer morning, mid-day, and evening visits for our clients.
• What current commitments do you have that would prevent you from being available during our hours of operation ( Monday-Sunday, 7am-8pm)? These hours are not worked consecutive, but you could have clients with morning (7am), mid-day, and evening (until 8pm).
