Job Summary

The Niswander lab is seeking a full-time Professional Research Assistant to assist graduate students and postdoctoral fellow on research studies related to neurodevelopment using animal and iPSC-derived cell studies.

Who We Are

The Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology Department – Niswander lab. MCDB is located on the main Boulder CU campus. MCDB research labs focus on diverse, cutting-edge biological topics. The Niswander lab is interested in uncovering the genetic basis of neural development with the goal to prevent birth defects and childhood neurological disorders.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • Cell culture of induced pluripotent stem cells and their differentiation into neural cell types. Molecular biology techniques including DNA and RNA isolation, cloning, PCR, and protein assays. Histological techniques including sample cryopreservation, sectioning and immunohistochemical techniques. Microscopy image acquisition and quantitative analysis. Mouse husbandry and animal experiments. Routine supply ordering and lab maintenance.

The hiring range for this position is $37,250 - $39,000 annually.

What We Require

  • Bachelor’s degree in the biological sciences
