Job Description

Position: Faculty position (Assistant/Associate/Full Professor depending on experience) in the Department of Government and Society, UAE University. Fields: Political Science; Comparative Politics, Political Thought/Theory, International Political Economy, and International Relations.

Qualified candidates at all levels will be considered at a rank commensurate with academic accomplishments. Candidates are expected to have a strong commitment to teaching excellence and student advising at the undergraduate and graduate levels, a demonstrable research capability that will enable the candidate to develop and sustain an internally and/or externally funded research program in their area of expertise, publish research findings in refereed journals, and actively engage in promoting the growth of the UAE University.

The candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, supervise graduate level thesis, and also teach in civilian and military academic institutions as part of UAEU faculty. The candidate will also contribute effectively to development of the department, serve the college, UAE University and the broader UAE community.

Minimum Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Political Science (or relevant fields) from an accredited university completed through full time doctoral study.
• Ability to teach undergraduate courses is a must.
• Academic administrative and professional experience is a plus.
• Fluency in English required; additional languages such as Arabic preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong and continuous record of publishing research in Scopus indexed journals and a strong citation index.
• Experience teaching a variety of graduate and undergraduate courses and supervising graduate students' research and theses.
• Strong theoretical knowledge and applied skills in teaching and research; excellent command of writing, reading and speaking in English (proficient in both Arabic and English preferred).
• Expertise in program development, curriculum design and development with a high quality service record at the level of academic department, university and community.
