General Description (Purpose and Function):
The Division of Surgical Oncology at the University of Miami, Leonard Miller School of Medicine is seeking a fellowship-trained surgeon specializing in surgical oncology. We have strong multidisciplinary programs in breast and cutaneous oncology that work to provide high quality clinical care and access to cutting edge clinical trials. Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center is the only university-based, NCI-designated cancer center in South Florida and is focused on innovation in cancer care.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities (For-exempt Employees Include Percent of Effort):
Job responsibilities include participation in clinical and educational activities as they relate to the Division of Surgical Oncology and the Department of Surgery:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Along with proper training and certification, the incumbent must have a keen interest in and concern for the needs of surgical oncology patients, and other related surgical anamolies.
Education Requirements (Essential Requirements):
Applicants should have a strong commitment to patient care and education and an interest in clinical research. Bachelor's degree in pre-medicine or related field, followed by 4 years in medical school and additional residency and fellowship specialty training.
Eligible candidates must be board certified in surgery, be able to obtain and maintain a valid DEA Registration and Florida Medical License, and have completed an ACGME approved plastic surgery fellowship.
