Proficient CNC Machinist

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Proficient CNC Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate, program, and maintain CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines such as CNC lathes and milling machines to produce precision components. Your expertise in CNC programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge will ensure that parts meet strict quality standards and specifications. Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines, including CNC lathes and milling machines, ensuring optimal performance and precision.
• Develop and modify CNC programs using CAM programming software, ensuring efficient machining processes.
• Read and interpret complex blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical drawings to produce accurate parts.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify dimensions.
• Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment and troubleshoot issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Select appropriate tooling and tooling setups for various machining tasks while adhering to safety protocols.
• Apply knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes when required for complex or hard materials.
• Follow lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency.
• Assist with assembly tasks when necessary, using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools.
• Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, inspections, and quality control records.

Experience

• Proven experience as a CNC Machinist with proficiency in programming CNC lathe and milling machines using Fanuc controls or similar systems.
• Strong understanding of blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and mechanical drawings.
• Hands-on experience with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as SolidWorks or similar programs for part design review.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes including plastics injection molding and welding techniques is a plus.
• Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM) techniques for precision machining applications.
• Ability to use precision measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and coordinate measuring machines effectively.
• Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, feed rates, speeds, and other machining parameters.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment with lean manufacturing principles is highly desirable.
