Overview
Southwest CDC began providing job training services to residents of Southwest Philadelphia and the surrounding area in 2025. The two targeted fields are phlebotomy and warehousing. We are seeking a dedicated Program Assistant to support the program manager. This position is based in our offices in Southwest Philadelphia.

Duties

This position will provide general clerical support and assistance including filing, data entry, client interaction class registration, inter-organizational communication, and other related office procedures.

  • Track and maintain student attendance records for all workforce training programs.
  • Enter and update participant data in Commonwealth Workforce Development System (CWDS) and other program databases.
  • Prepare and submit required documentation and verification forms to the County Assistance Office (CAO) to support participant benefits and program compliance.
  • Assist the Workforce Development Manager with program coordination and administrative support for job training initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate participant files and program records to ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Attend bi-weekly meetings with program staff at PA SNAP JETS and participate in audit meetings with them as well.
  • Communicate with students regarding attendance, program updates, documentation needs, and support services.
  • Support the Manager in creating graphics, flyers, and social media content to promote workforce training programs and community engagement.
  • Provide general administrative support, including scheduling, document preparation, and assisting during program activities and events.

Qualifications

  • Basic computer skills, competency in Microsoft Word/Excel or Google Docs/Sheets, and graphic creation programs such as Canva, ability to use email and internet.
  • Minimum word processing speed of 40wpm, strong written and oral communications skills and must be detail oriented
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent and at least 2 years of prior clerical or program assistant experience or any combination of experience, education or training that would provide the level of knowledge, skill and ability required.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred with an acceptable driving record.
  • Able to lift and/or carry file boxes, not to exceed 35 lbs.

Pay: $20.00 per hour
