ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Manage day-to-day execution of assigned government contracts or program elements.
  • Develop and maintain integrated program schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Monitor performance against cost, schedule, and technical requirements.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure program objectives are met.
  • Identify program risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for designated government representatives.
  • Participate in program management reviews, status briefings, and technical discussions.
  • Ensure timely submission of contractual deliverables and reports.
  • Manage program budgets, funding profiles, and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor expenditures and cost performance metrics.
  • Support Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting where applicable.
  • Analyze cost and schedule variances and implement corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with engineering and production teams to translate technical requirements into executable plans.
  • Support transitions between development, production, and sustainment phases.
  • Ensure configuration management and change control processes are followed.
  • Ensure program activities comply with FAR/DFARS and contractual requirements.
  • Support DCMA, DCAA, and other regulatory or customer audits.
  • Promote adherence to explosives safety, environmental, and occupational safety standards.
  • Prepare and present program performance reports to company leadership.
  • Maintain accurate program documentation and contract records.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position has no direct supervisory responsibility but may provide guidance to junior program management staff.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (as demonstrated through experience, training and/or testing)
  • Knowledge of government contracting environments and defense acquisition processes.
  • Understanding of FAR/DFARS compliance principles.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing environments supporting defense systems.
  • Strong program planning and schedule management skills.
  • Financial tracking and forecasting capability.
  • Ability to lead cross‑functional teams without direct reporting authority.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance (secret).
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, program management, business, operations, or related discipline.
  • PMP certification or equivalent program management training.
Experience
5 years of relevant experience supporting government contracts or defense manufacturing and coordinating multi‑disciplinary project teams.
Background Prerequisites
Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks and controlled substance testing.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience supporting weapons, ammunition, or energetics programs preferred.
  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management preferred.

  • May be required to move boxes or materials weighing up to 30 pounds
  • Must be able to move about inside the workspace to access materials, supplies and office machinery
  • Must be able to visit and temporarily work at remote U.S. government testing facilities/ranges
  • Occasional international and domestic travel required
