Background:
UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security.
The Flagship Initiative on Women’s Employment in the Green, STEM, and Care Economies seeks to increase women’s employment in the Arab States region by 5% by 2030 through innovative and collaborative approaches across governments, international financial institutions, the private sector, UN agencies, NGOs, and media. The Programme Coordination Analyst will help in supporting the initiative’s strategic planning, coordination, and reporting efforts by ensuring effective communication across teams, managing project timelines, and contributing to the implementation of work plans and progress tracking.
Reporting to the Director of Women Employment in the Green, STEM and Care Economy the Programme Coordination Analyst is responsible for contributing to the coordination of the Flagship Initiative portfolio with a focus on the AECID-funded project which includes coordinating relationships with national partners and stakeholders, and the monitoring and reporting, and the finances and personnel of the portfolio
Scope of Work:
Coordinate the work planning and support the implementation of the Flagship Initiative on Women’s Employment in the Green, STEM, and Care Economies (SWEI)
Coordinate the monitoring and reporting of the AECID-funded project under the Flagship Initiative
Manage the timely finances component of the Flagship initiative
Manage the timely execution of preparatory work in relation to Engagements of the Flagship Initiative
Conduct Regional Comprehensive Overviews / Analysis
The incumbent performs other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.

In July 2010, the United Nations General Assembly created UN Women, the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women.
