The Programming Intern will assist the Programming Department in the planning, coordination, and delivery of the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature. This role is primarily administrative and will provide valuable hands-on experience in cultural event management, author liaison, and festival logistics.

The successful candidate will be highly organised, proactive, and detail-oriented, with a passion for literature, events, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

Administrative Support

  • Assist with day-to-day administrative tasks within the Programming Department.
  • Maintain and update databases, spreadsheets, and schedules related to authors, sessions, and event logistics.
  • Support in preparing and distributing internal documents, correspondence, and reports.

Festival Planning & Coordination

  • Assist in the coordination of author and speaker schedules, session details, and event logistics.
  • Help track the progress of programming deliverables and timelines.
  • Support with gathering and organising materials for programme guides, website content, and marketing collateral.

Communication & Liaison

  • Communicate with internal teams and external stakeholders (authors, publishers, agents, etc.) as directed by the Programming team.
  • Help prepare and manage information packs, itineraries, and correspondence for visiting authors and speakers.

Details of Internship:

This internship is an unpaid position, primarily designed to provide valuable hands-on experience.

The duration of the internship is flexible based on candidates availability, however can be for a maximum of two months.

Internship hours: 6 hours per day
