JOB SUMMARY
The Project Coordinator will support the delivery, coordination, and reporting of key conservation programmes within Emirates Nature–WWF’s Conservation Unit. The role requires a proactive self-starter with strong organizational skills and experience supporting complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
The position will primarily support two flagship programmes:
In addition, approximately 10–15% of the role will support coordination and delivery across the wider Conservation Unit.
The Project Coordinator will work closely with Project Managers and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution, effective stakeholder engagement, timely reporting, and strong administrative and logistical support, contributing to high-quality programme delivery in line with Emirates Nature–WWF’s Programme Delivery standards.
Programme Context
Flagship Programme 1: Ecotourism – Al Rams (Ras Al Khaimah)
Emirates Nature–WWF, in partnership with the Emirates Council for Balanced Development (ECBD), is implementing the Building Sustainable Rural Communities project to support a sustainable development model for the rural community of Al Rams. The project focuses on developing an ecotourism plan that highlights the area’s natural and cultural heritage while preserving and restoring key ecosystems.
A core outcome of the initiative is the design and construction of an eco-trail linking mountainous landscapes, farmlands, and a coastal lagoon, offering visitors an integrated cultural and nature-based experience while creating local economic opportunities.
Flagship Programme 2: UAE Alliance for Climate Action (UACA)
Launched by Emirates Nature–WWF at COP27, the UAE Alliance for Climate Action is a multi-stakeholder coalition advancing science-based climate action in line with the Paris Agreement and the UAE Net Zero Strategy 2050.
Endorsed by the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and supported by HSBC Middle East as founding donor, UACA brings together 55+ members across sectors to accelerate decarbonisation and support an enabling policy environment for climate action in the UAE.
BACKGROUND
Emirates Nature is a UAE environmental non-governmental charity, established in 2001 under the Honorary Founder and President H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan as a legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed’s vision for the United Arab Emirates. HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan is the Ruler’s representative in the Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of Environmental Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD) Board of Directors.
We operate with offices in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Fujairah and are governed by a local board of directors.
Emirates Nature works in association with WWF, one of the world’s largest and most respected independent conservation organizations. Emirates Nature-WWF has been active in the UAE for two decades and is renowned for its commitment to biodiversity conservation, habitat protection, sustainable development, and community engagement. Some of our flagship projects include marine conservation initiatives to protect coral reefs and marine species, wildlife conservation programs focusing on endangered species such as Arabian oryx and sea turtles, habitat restoration projects in critical ecosystems, and sustainable development initiatives aimed at mitigating climate change impacts and promoting eco-friendly practices across various sectors.
