WE ARE LOOKING FOR A DESIGN ASSISTANT!
An ideal entry point for an organized, design-minded professional who wants to take ownership, grow, and become truly indispensable in a small, fast-moving cabinet shop.

- High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or experience in interior design, drafting, cabinetry, millwork, or construction is required at some level.
- Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Comfortable with computers and learning new software; experience with design or CAD software is a strong plus.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage your own priorities, stay productive with minimal supervision, and meet deadlines.
- Genuine interest in design, cabinetry, or construction and how things are built in the real world.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and work at a computer.
- Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds and ability to move through shop, office, and jobsite environments as needed.
- Must pass a background check and maintain a substance-free working environment.
- Valid driver’s license and insurability are preferred (for occasional errands or site visits).
What We Value
- Integrity: Doing the right thing, even when it’s harder, and taking responsibility for your work.
- Ownership mindset: Treating projects, timelines, and details as if the business were your own.
- Service: Supporting the team, installers, and clients with a helpful, solution-oriented attitude.
- Excellence: Caring about accuracy, buildability, and clear documentation, not just how things look on paper.
Role & Responsibilities
- Assist the owner/lead designer with daily project and design support tasks.
- Collect and organize appliance specs, hardware details, and product information for cabinetry designs.
- Enter and update project notes, measurements, and decisions into our project systems and job files.
- Help maintain organized, accurate digital and physical files for each job.
- Support preparation of drawings, reference materials, and documentation for the shop and installers.
- Track and update job details, selections, and timelines so nothing falls through the cracks.
- Coordinate with internal team members (shop, installers, office) to keep projects moving.
- Perform general administrative tasks related to design projects (emails, follow-ups, checklists, etc.).
Who This Role Is For
This role is ideal for someone who is:
- Highly self-motivated and doesn’t need to be watched to stay productive.
- Honest about their abilities and willing to show real work and learn where needed.
- Comfortable working independently, asking good questions, and owning their responsibilities.
- Looking for a place to grow into a more advanced design/drafting role as they prove themselves.
