Project Director
The Project Director is responsible for leading the overall planning, execution, and delivery of major projects from initiation to completion. The role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with quality, safety, and client expectations.
Key responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership across one or more large projects.
- Develop project plans, budgets, schedules, and resource strategies.
- Oversee project execution, monitoring, and final delivery.
- Manage project risks, changes, claims, and issues.
- Control project cost, profitability, and financial performance.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and authorities.
- Ensure compliance with quality, HSE, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead project managers and technical teams to achieve project goals.
- Report progress, risks, and performance to senior management.
- Resolve major project-level disputes and support contract administration.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 15+ years of experience in project management or construction delivery.
- Proven experience leading large, complex, or multi-disciplinary projects.
- Strong knowledge of contracts, cost control, scheduling, and project controls.
- Experience working in Qatar or the GCC is preferred.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or similar certification is an advantage.
Skills and competencies
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
- Ability to manage budgets, timelines, and technical teams.
- Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of local regulations, HSE standards, and construction practices.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project or Primavera.
Pay: QAR145.00 - QAR410.00 per hour
