We are seeking an experienced
Project Director – CCGT
to lead the end-to-end execution of a large-scale power generation project. This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the
CEO of the Project Company
, with full responsibility for delivery during the construction, commissioning, and start-up phases.

Role & Responsibilities
As Project Director, you will be accountable for the overall success of the project, ensuring execution in line with contractual, financial, technical, and safety requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
-
Full ownership and understanding of the
Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), EPC Contract, O&M Agreement
, and all related project agreements.
-
Effective stakeholder management in alignment with contractual obligations.
-
Ensuring that the
Company, Operator, and Owner’s Engineer
are properly organized to fulfill their responsibilities during the construction period.
-
Delivering the project in accordance with
PPA/EPC agreements
, maintaining the highest standards of
HSE, quality, schedule, and budget control
.
-
Overseeing
plant design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and testing
through the Owner’s Engineer.
-
Approving project expenditures, including EPC-related costs, within delegated authority.
-
Providing leadership to a team of engineers and risk managers responsible for monitoring construction, commissioning, and start-up activities.

Reviewing and approving
monthly progress reports
(with EPC Contractor and Owner’s Engineer) and coordinating
monthly budget analysis
with the CFO for Board reporting.

Preparing comprehensive reports for
Quarterly Board of Directors (BOD) meetings
, including:
-
Project progress and cost analysis
-
Sources of finance and cash flow comparisons vs. budget/base case model
-
Forecasted expenditures up to
Commercial Operation Date (COD)

Detailed justifications for any non-budgeted expenditures requiring Board approval
-
Attending BOD meetings to support executive management and respond to technical and progress-related queries.

Managing relationships with the
Off-taker, dispatch, and transmission companies
.

Proactively identifying, escalating, and resolving project risks and issues.
-
Developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure project alignment and minimize deviations.
-
Leading, motivating, and performance-managing the project team.

Joint Responsibilities
With the Construction Director:
-
Oversee all construction activities to ensure adherence to schedules, budgets, specifications, and HSE standards.

Ensure optimal allocation and utilization of construction resources and implementation of corrective actions when required.
With the Engineering Manager:
-
Ensure all technical and engineering activities comply with approved designs, specifications, and engineering standards.
With the Project Control Manager & Project Engineer:
-
Oversee planning, scheduling, and project controls.
-
Ensure accurate progress tracking, milestone management, and mitigation actions.
-
Prepare and review detailed progress reports for executive management and stakeholders.

Requirements
-
Bachelor’s Degree in
Engineering
(mandatory)
-
Minimum
18 years of project management experience
, including
at least 12 years in CCGT projects
-
Strong
EPC project experience
in CCGT power plants
-
Proven delivery of
at least 2 full-cycle CCGT projects
, each with
≥500 MW capacity
-
Professional Engineer (PE)
registration – preferred
-
PMP or equivalent certification
– preferred
-
Fluency in
English
with excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong
presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management
skills

Ability to manage multiple complex workstreams simultaneously

Proficient in standard office software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint)
