Position Description

We are looking to expand our team by adding an additional Project Engineer to develop project plans and prepare proper project documentation, providing technical input and data. Partnering with Project Managers, they will be responsible to develop project plans, set goals, and establish project requirements.

Salt Lake City and Wasatch Front Area

Position Responsibilities:
Supervisory
Monitors and drives overall project performance and project outcomes.

Keeps the overall project within specified timelines, budget, safety, and quality standards.

Oversees effective tactical planning to include project phasing, value engineering, risk management, etc.

Assesses the project and develops strategies to ensure the optimal approach for goal alignment, workflows, quality assurance, risk management, etc.


Technical

Collaborates with the Project Manager to develop project plans, set goals, and establish project requirements.

Assists the Project Manager and Project Superintendent in creating and updating project schedules, monitoring progress, submitting tracking, and distributing RFIs, submittals, field directives, change orders, update plans, and coordinating activities between different teams.

Works with the Project Manager and Project Superintendent to prepare project documentation, including reports, change orders, and progress updates, also providing technical input and data to support the project manager in making informed decisions.

Assists the Project Manager in monitoring project expenses by providing cost estimates and reviewing contractor invoices and change orders.

Collaborates with the Project Manager to identify and resolve project issues, address changes in scope, and ensure that project goals are met.

Collects quantitative data for the project manager to issue a monthly progress payment.

Collaborates with the Project Superintendent to ensure that construction activities align with project plans, specifications, safety and quality standards.

Provides technical expertise and guidance to the project superintendent, such as: data for needed materials, helping them obtain approved submittals, RFI responses and other items as needed.

Coordinates with the project superintendent to procure and manage materials, equipment, and subcontractors.

Supports the project superintendent in implementing quality control procedures by conducting inspections, reviewing workmanship, and addressing any quality concerns.

Works with the Project Superintendent to promote a safe working environment by addressing safety issues, conducting safety inspections, and enforcing safety protocols on-site.

Any other duties as assigned.

Required Education:

  • Experience as a Project/General Foreman, Field Engineer, or Superintendent
    • 4-year accredited Project Management Degree or accredited Civil Engineering Degree
    • Other's as approved by upper-management


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management Degree or Civil Engineering Degree
  • Current First Aid & AED certification
  • Intermediate Computer Skills
  • OSHA 10 Certification
  • Ability to print (to inscribe by whatever means) simple & complex sentences, series of numbers & use a construction related vocabulary as needed. Also includes the ability to communicate professionally, clearly & effectively.

Offered compensation: $56,000/yr - $74,000/yr
