Job Summary:
The Project Engineer – Civil is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing civil engineering projects from inception through completion. This role ensures that projects meet quality, safety, schedule, and budget requirements by overseeing engineering design, procurement, construction activities, and stakeholder communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets in coordination with project managers and stakeholders.
- Review and interpret civil engineering designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure feasibility and compliance with standards.
- Coordinate with design teams, contractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
- Monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to quality, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Assist in procurement of materials, equipment, and services by preparing technical specifications and evaluating vendor proposals.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to assess work quality, progress, and compliance.
- Identify potential risks and issues, proposing solutions to mitigate project delays or cost overruns.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation including reports, schedules, change orders, and meeting minutes.
- Support project commissioning, handover, and closeout activities.
- Facilitate communication between engineering, construction, and management teams.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, codes, and company policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience of 3-7 years in civil engineering project management or engineering roles.
- Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and project management techniques.
- Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and engineering tools (AutoCAD, SAP2000).
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with contract administration and procurement processes.
