Position: Project Engineer – Stone Industry

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Project Engineer with a civil engineering background and experience in the stone/finishes industry to join our Projects team. The candidate will support the execution of stone works—from design review through fabrication and installation—ensuring technical integrity, quality of deliverables and coordination with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Projects Manager, design team, clients, architects and subcontractors to review scope, specifications and engineering drawings of stone installations.
• Conduct site visits and surveys to assess conditions, constraints, installation requirements and interface with other trades.
• Review and comment on shop drawings, fabrication drawings, structural supports, anchorage details and ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
• Provide technical support during fabrication, delivery, handling, installation and finishing of stone works, including cladding, façades, floors, wall panels, bespoke stone elements.
• Monitor and coordinate installation progress, interface with contractors, subcontractors and internal fabrication teams.
• Assist in preparation of engineering calculations, bill of materials (BOM) related to stone structures/supports, and ensure documentation and records are maintained.
• Ensure QA/QC standards are met for material, fabrication and installation; liaise with QA/QC and HSE teams.
• Assist in resolving technical issues on site, track and report deviations, propose corrective actions and help manage risk.
• Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, provide progress reports and escalate issues as needed.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the stone/finishes industry (fabrication, installation) or associated field (ideally stone installation/contracting).
• Good knowledge of natural stone materials, fabrication and installation techniques, anchorage/fixing systems and finishes.
• Experience with AutoCAD, shop drawings, reviewing structural supports and detailing.
• Site-experience in installation/coordination of stone works is an advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, installation details and interface with other trades.
• Good communication, coordination, problem-solving and documentation skills.
• Willingness to travel to sites and work in the UAE environment.
