Purpose of the Position
As a Project Engineer, you will participate in the Aramco Project, managing offshore systems or subsystems and coordinating engineering activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Know and be able to manage specific offshore systems or subsystems: Field layout
- Platform configuration
- Topsides modularization
- Constructability and hook up
- Critical assessment of the design to add value through internal asset capacity of fabrication and installation
- Coordinate and supervise the engineering activities related to offshore platform, systems and modules
- Interface with technical/operational multidisciplinary disciplines critical for the project
- Play own role during project phases: field development studies, screening studies / conceptual design, feasibility studies/basic design, front end engineering design (FEED), bid engineering for commercial proposal development, project execution
- Coordinate and oversee execution of engineering activities of competence for a defined offshore system
- Plan and control engineering activities of competence, ensuring correct interfaces between the part of competence and the rest of the project
- Ensure proper communication between disciplines involved in the defined offshore system for integrated solutions
- Ensure carrying out of system engineering activities, functional to detailed design, procurement of materials and construction services
- Identify optimization areas involving engineering, installation and construction disciplines
- Propose optimized engineering solutions to determine platform configuration to be transported, installed and hooked up with available marine vessels, minimizing offshore hook up and optimizing construction sequences and methodology
- Interface with fabrication and installation teams to review design for constructability and installation aspects
- Monitor weight of liftable items and ensure weight limits are not exceeded
- Prepare procurement and construction documents with correct priorities and sequences, in accordance with defined plans and construction schedule
- Review engineering and apply contractual documents within own area of responsibility
- Document and present potential variation orders to the client for acceptance
- Conduct interdisciplinary verifications and controls during engineering development to minimize changes during construction
- Coordinate with fabrication yards for key dates of Approved For Construction (AFC) engineering documents and activate recovery plans when needed
- Contribute to project reporting for the relevant engineering part
- Develop plans to monitor and control progress and schedule of competence activities
- Support the operations team during fabrication, installation and start up phases
- Collect red marked engineering documents in the construction yard
- Support the Field Engineering Manager by ensuring availability of necessary engineering documents within own area
Qualifications
- PMP certification required
