Position Summary
We are seeking a proactive and technically strong Project Engineer with hands-on experience in Civil Construction, Building Finishing Works, and Interior Fit-Out Projects. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing on-site activities, coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers, and ensuring that all work is executed according to approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards. This position demands a highly organized individual who can multitask, communicate effectively, and maintain strict control over project timelines and cost targets.
Key Responsibilities1. Project Planning & Execution
- Assist in developing project schedules, material procurement plans, and manpower allocation.
- Coordinate day-to-day site activities to ensure smooth progress as per master schedule.
- Review IFC drawings, shop drawings, and material submittals.
- Ensure all work complies with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.
2. Site Supervision & Quality Control
- Conduct daily site inspections and verify workmanship quality for civil, finishing, and joinery/fit-out works.
- Monitor progress and issue daily/weekly reports to the Project Manager.
- Identify technical issues on site and propose practical solutions.
- Ensure safety protocols (HSE) are implemented at all times.
3. Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Attend weekly progress meetings and prepare minutes of meeting (MOM).
- Communicate effectively with internal teams to align project goals and ensure timely delivery.
4. Material & Resource Management
- Prepare material requisitions and follow up on timely deliveries.
- Verify material quality and ensure proper handling, storage, and installation.
- Monitor subcontractor performance and verify measurement sheets for billing.
5. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain project documentation including RFI submissions, MIR/WIR, material approvals, and daily logs.
- Assist in preparing as-built drawings and handover documents.
- Support cost control efforts by tracking material usage and variations.
Qualifications & SkillsEducational Background
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Mandatory).
- UPDA / SCE / Bahrain CRPEP registration (preferable but not mandatory).
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of civil & finishing works, joinery, gypsum, painting, flooring, MEP coordination, etc.
- Familiar with project planning tools such as MS Project or Primavera (added advantage).
- Excellent understanding of shop drawings and technical specifications.
- Experience with quality control procedures and snag list management.
Soft Skills
- Strong leadership and team-coordination ability.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
Additional Requirements
- Must possess own car for site visits and coordination between multiple project locations.
- Ability to join immediately or within a short notice period will be an advantage.
