Job Title: Project Engineer – PBX & Fiber Optic Telephony Infrastructure

Project Overview

We have an existing Unify PBX exchange system currently in operation. The project involves a comprehensive upgrade of the PBX server along with the deployment of a telephone fiber optic cabling infrastructure as part of a single integrated telecom project, with future expansion and extensions planned.

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer who will take complete ownership of this project from planning through execution and will also support future upgrades and extensions of the system.

Key Responsibilities

· Manage and execute the upgrade of the existing Unify PBX server with minimal downtime.

· Design, plan, and supervise telephone fiber optic cable deployment, including routing, termination, and testing.

· Integrate PBX systems with fiber-based telephony infrastructure.

· Act as the single technical point of contact for the project.

· Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal IT/telecom teams.

· Configure, test, and troubleshoot PBX, VoIP, SIP, and telephony systems.

· Ensure scalability for future extensions and system expansion.

· Prepare technical documentation, as-built drawings, and handover reports.

· Provide post-deployment support and guidance for future upgrades.

Required Skills & Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Telecom, Electronics, Electrical, IT, or Computer Engineering.

· Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in enterprise telephony and networking projects.

· Strong experience with PBX systems (Unify / Siemens / Mitel or equivalent).

· In-depth knowledge of networking: LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, VLANs, routing and switching.

· Strong understanding of VoIP, SIP, and telephony protocols.

· Hands-on experience with fiber optic splicing, termination, OTDR testing, and certification.

· Strong troubleshooting, coordination, and documentation skills.
