Project Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Engineer to oversee and manage construction projects from planning through execution and final handover. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating site activities, managing project resources, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards, and delivering projects within approved timelines and budgets.

Key Responsibilities: Project Planning & Coordination

• Review project drawings, specifications, BOQs, contracts, and client requirements.
• Develop project execution plans, schedules, and resource allocation plans.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal departments.
• Monitor project progress and ensure achievement of project milestones.
• Identify project risks and implement corrective actions.

Site Execution & Management

• Supervise day-to-day site activities and ensure work is executed according to approved drawings and specifications.
• Manage construction activities including civil, structural steel, architectural, and finishing works.
• Ensure manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractors are effectively utilized.
• Monitor productivity and project performance.
• Resolve site-related technical and operational issues.

Structural Steel & Construction Works

• Manage fabrication, installation, and erection of:
• Structural steel buildings
• PEB (Pre-Engineered Building) structures
• Warehouse structures
• Steel canopies
• Pergolas
• Handrails and guardrails
• Structural beams and columns
• Steel staircases
• Mezzanine floors
• Industrial and commercial steel structures
• Coordinate between factory production and site erection teams.
• Ensure proper sequencing and completion of erection activities.

Technical Management

• Review IFC drawings, shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and as-built drawings.
• Coordinate with design, engineering, drafting, and procurement teams.
• Prepare technical reports and project updates.
• Attend client, consultant, and internal project meetings.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications and engineering standards.

Procurement & Material Control

• Coordinate procurement requirements based on project schedules.
• Monitor material deliveries and site inventory.
• Ensure timely availability of materials and equipment.
• Control material wastage and optimize resource utilization.

Quality Assurance & Quality Control

• Ensure all works comply with approved drawings, project specifications, and quality standards.
• Conduct inspections and monitor workmanship quality.
• Coordinate inspections with consultants and clients.
• Ensure timely closure of snagging and punch-list items.

Cost Control & Commercial Support

• Monitor project budgets and cost performance.
• Review subcontractor progress and work completion.
• Support Quantity Surveying team for measurements, variations, and claims.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

• Ensure compliance with company HSE policies and UAE regulations.
• Conduct regular site safety inspections and toolbox talks.
• Ensure all personnel follow safe working practices.
• Report and address safety concerns immediately.

Project Handover

• Coordinate testing, inspections, commissioning, and handover activities.
• Prepare project completion reports and documentation.
• Ensure successful project closure and client satisfaction.

RequirementsEducation

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related field.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of UAE/GCC experience in construction, structural steel, PEB, industrial, commercial, or infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience managing site execution and project delivery.

Preferred Qualifications

• UAE Driving License.
• Experience in steel fabrication and construction contracting companies.
• Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
