Project Engineer – Authority Approvals (Interior Fit-Out Projects)

Responsibilities

1. Liaison with Authorities

• Coordinate with government and semi-government authorities such as Dubai Municipality (DM), Dubai Development Authority (DDA), Trakhees, Dubai Civil Defence (DCD), RTA, DEWA, and others depending on project location.
• Act as the primary contact point between the project team and regulatory bodies.

2. Permit & Approval Management:

· Prepare, compile, and submit drawings, documents, and applications for various permits (building permit, fire safety, utility NOCs, etc.).

· Follow up on submitted applications to ensure timely approvals and resolve any rejections or comments.

3. Documentation and Compliance:

· Ensure all project designs, architectural/MEP/shop drawings, and calculations meet the standards and regulations of the respective authorities.

· Maintain up-to-date records of approvals, NOCs, revisions, and re-submissions.

4. Project Coordination:

· Coordinate with internal design teams, consultants, and contractors to gather required technical documents.

· Communicate authority feedback and ensure modifications are implemented accordingly.

5. Site and Project Support:

· Assist in securing approvals for site mobilization, utility connections (e.g., water, electricity), temporary permits, and safety clearances.

· Provide support during inspections by authorities and ensure all prerequisites are fulfilled.

6. Regulatory Updates:

· Stay updated with the latest rules, guidelines, and procedures from relevant government agencies.

· Advise project stakeholders of any changes that may impact project timelines or compliance.

7. Reporting:

· Prepare regular progress reports on the status of approvals and permits.

· Highlight any risks or delays related to authority approvals.

✅ Key Skills Required:

· In-depth knowledge of local authority processes (DM, DCD, RTA, DEWA, etc.)

· Technical understanding of engineering and architectural drawings

· Strong communication and coordination skills

· Familiarity with online submission portals (e.g., Dubai BPS, Trakhees e-permit)

· Problem-solving and ability to handle rejection/comments from authorities
