Project Engineer - Cedar Rapids, IASummary:
This position is responsible for providing project engineering support within Cedar Rapids Corn Processing Complex. Primary focus will be to develop and manage capital projects across the complex with budgets typically between $1M-$5M. Types of projects expected will include EHS compliance and improvements, new equipment installation/replacement, process optimization, facility improvements, and large scope equipment repairs. This position will also be expected to actively aid in the development of other process engineers, maintenance planners, and operations personnel in the subjects of project management, process analysis, and utilization of ADM processes/software’s/and tools.
Specific Job Duties-
Actively engaged in managing site contractor safety performance. Including frequent in field observations and participating in 3rd party performance evaluations and selections.

Manage a portfolio of projects across the site from scope development all the way to closure and evaluation

Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocations, and risk management strategies that comply with applicable legislated and company requirements

Lead and coordinate project teams to execute projects safe, on time and on budget.

Communicate regularly and partner with stakeholders including plant management, operations teams, maintenance, regional capital execution, technology,3rd party vendors/suppliers, EHS, and quality teams internal and external of the plant.

Manage project scope change and risk management in accordance with escalation processes

Support and assist the operations team in coordinating project sustainment with the development of necessary documentation for training, maintenance, commissioning, and any required record keeping.

Conduct post-project evaluations and financial look backs to identify lessons learned for continuous improvement
Education Requirements-
Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Engineering (Chemical, Agricultural, Mechanical Preferred) OR certified Project Management Professional (PMP)
Required Skills.-
3+ years of experience in a manufacturing role with experiencing managing capital projects

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with cross functional teams.

Knowledge of and experience with development of engineering drawings and documentation, such as project timelines, Authorization for Expenditures (AFE), P&IDs and control narratives.

Ability to work effectively on a team as well as independently to manage multiple projects simultaneously

High level of motivation and results-oriented way of working.

Preferred Skills-
Experience with equipment commissioning

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
