Project Engineer – Chilled Water Projects

Duties and Responsibilities

- Lead, coordinate, and supervise the execution of chilled water projects, including installation, testing, and commissioning activities.

- Supervise and provide technical direction to site engineers, supervisors, and technicians to ensure efficient project implementation.

- Review and validate system designs, load calculations, equipment selection, and layout drawings for chilled water networks.

- Oversee the installation and commissioning of chillers, pumps, piping systems, valves, and control systems in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.

- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, ensure quality workmanship, and maintain adherence to safety regulations.

- Identify and resolve technical and operational challenges during project execution.

- Coordinate with consultants, main contractors, and subcontractors to achieve seamless integration between mechanical, electrical, and control systems.

- Review and approve technical submittals, method statements, and material requests in coordination with the Projects Manager.

- Plan manpower allocation, work schedules, and resource utilization to meet project milestones.

- Collaborate with the procurement team to evaluate and select suitable materials and equipment.

- Prepare progress reports, performance evaluations, and documentation related to project execution and handover.

- Ensure full compliance with local codes, ASHRAE standards, and company safety policies.

- Guide, train, and mentor junior engineers and site staff to enhance technical and operational capabilities.

- Keep updated with new technologies, materials, and energy-efficient practices in chilled water system design and operation.

Education/ Experience Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.

- Holding a valid CRPEP license is a must.

- Minimum 5 years of experience in chilled water HVAC system design, installation, and commissioning, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

- Strong technical knowledge of chilled water plants, pumps, piping systems, and associated controls.

- Familiarity with international and local HVAC standards.

- Proven ability to manage teams, coordinate with multiple stakeholders and deliver projects on time and within budget.

- Ability to travel to project sites as required.
