About the Role:

Royal Ocean Company is seeking a Project Engineer (Civil/Structural) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing civil and structural engineering aspects of projects from design through construction and commissioning. This role ensures that all engineering deliverables meet technical specifications, safety standards, and project schedules while effectively coordinating with design teams, contractors, and clients. Key Responsibilities:

1. Engineering and Design:

  • Develop, review, and approve civil and structural engineering designs, drawings, and specifications.
  • Perform structural analysis and design calculations for foundations, steel structures, concrete structures, and other civil works.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant codes and standards (e.g., ACI, AISC, BS, Eurocode, API, ASCE).
  • Review vendor and subcontractor drawings for compliance with project requirements.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams (mechanical, electrical, piping, instrumentation, etc.).

2. Project Coordination and Execution:

  • Assist in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor progress and ensure timely completion of civil and structural works.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, work scopes, and method statements.
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and clients to resolve technical issues.
  • Support the Project Manager in managing construction interfaces and documentation control.

3. Quality and Safety Assurance:

  • Ensure construction work adheres to approved designs, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  • Conduct site inspections, structural integrity assessments, and quality checks.
  • Participate in HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) meetings and enforce site safety protocols.
  • Identify and mitigate potential design or construction risks.

4. Documentation and Reporting:

  • Prepare progress reports, inspection records, and as-built documentation.
  • Maintain accurate project records and engineering documentation.
  • Support project close-out and handover activities, including final documentation and punch-list clearance.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer certification is an advantage.
  • Minimum 5–10 years of experience in civil and structural engineering for industrial, infrastructure, or building projects.
  • Proficiency in structural design software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP2000, Tekla, AutoCAD, Revit).
  • Strong knowledge of international design codes and standards.
  • Excellent project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
