Project Engineer – Interior Fit-Out (Job Description)
Role Summary:
The Project Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing interior fit-out projects, ensuring timely delivery, quality workmanship, and adherence to safety and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities:1. Project Planning & Coordination
- Assist the Project Manager in preparing project schedules, work programs, and material forecasts.
- Coordinate with designers, draftsmen, subcontractors, vendors, and site teams.
- Review drawings, specifications, and ensure clarity before site execution.
2. Site Execution
- Supervise daily site works for joinery, gypsum, partitions, ceilings, flooring, MEP coordination, and finishing works.
- Ensure that the site is progressing as per approved drawings, quality standards, and timelines.
- Solve technical issues on site and provide guidance to site teams.
3. Material & Procurement
- Prepare material take-offs and request materials as per project needs.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Check material compliance with project specifications.
4. Quality & Safety
- Monitor workmanship and ensure compliance with company quality standards.
- Ensure site safety rules and regulations are followed by all workers.
- Conduct inspections for completed works and prepare snag lists.
5. Client & Consultant Coordination
- Attend site meetings and coordinate with clients, consultants, and contractors.
- Provide progress updates and resolve site-related concerns.
- Ensure variations and additional works are recorded and communicated.
6. Documentation
- Prepare daily site reports, progress reports, and documentation.
- Maintain records for inspections, approvals, materials, and manpower.
- Help prepare handover documents and as-built drawings.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering/Architecture or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in interior fit-out projects (depending on level).
- Strong knowledge of joinery, gypsum, MEP coordination, and finishes.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office.
- Good communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
