Role Overview

The position of Financial Controller is part of the Middle East and Africa (MEA) FP&A Team based in Dubai.

The Project Finance Analyst will be responsible for overseeing financial governance and control for strategic projects across MEA. This role requires close collaboration with Technology teams and other stakeholders to ensure financial integrity, compliance, and accurate reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Financial Management:
    • Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and financial models.
    • Monitor actual vs. budgeted costs, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
    • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting for project stakeholders.
  • Coordination & Stakeholder Management:
    • Act as the financial liaison between Finance and Technology teams.
    • Support project governance by providing financial insights during steering committee meetings.
    • Collaborate with procurement and vendor management teams for cost control and contract compliance.
  • Controls & Compliance:
    • Implement robust financial controls for project-related transactions.
    • Ensure compliance with internal policies, IFRS standards, and UAE regulatory requirements.
    • Conduct risk assessments and propose mitigation strategies for financial risks.
  • System Implementation Support:
    • Provide financial input during system design and testing phases.
    • Validate financial data migration and ensure integrity in the new administration system.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA, ACCA, or CMA preferred.
  • Experience: 5–10 years in financial control, with exposure to project accounting and system implementation.
  • Industry Knowledge: Health insurance or broader insurance sector experience is highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Knowledge of US GAAP; IFRS and UAE regulatory frameworks.
    • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
    • Experience of Oracle or similar General Ledger packages would be advantageous
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving abilities.
