Our client, a major Shipping company is looking to hire a Key Account Officer to be based in Abu Dhabi.
About the Role
- As Key Account Officer, the candidate will be responsible for managing and developing break bulk and special transportation projects across the Middle East. You will oversee technical studies, operational execution, and commercial expansion in the region.
Responsibilities

Market & Technical Analysis: Conduct in-depth technical studies on break bulk cargo, analyze market trends, and develop innovative solutions to optimize transport efficiency across the Middle East.

Operational Supervision: Oversee cargo loading and handling operations, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, safety protocols, and quality standards.

Customer & Agent Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key customers and shipping agents, acting as the main point of contact for logistical and operational matters.

Business Development: Expand sea freight traffic, customer networks, and strategic partnerships, leveraging your deep knowledge of the market and the network of agents you supervise.

Market Intelligence & Reporting: Conduct market research, statistical analysis, and competitive benchmarking, providing regular reports on performance indicators and business opportunities.

Regional Representation: As the primary representative for agents and major clients in your area, you will be expected to conduct on-site visits and business meetings across key Middle Eastern ports to strengthen partnerships and develop new opportunities.
Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree (+4/5 years) in Business, Transport, Supply Chain, or Logistics.
Required Skills

Experience: 3 to 5 years in a commercial or operational role, ideally within shipping, break bulk, or special cargo logistics.

Technical Knowledge: Experience with vessel operations, freight forwarding, and break bulk cargo handling is highly beneficial.

Languages: Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required; additional languages (such as Arabic or French) are an asset.

IT & Analytical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data analysis, reporting, forecasting) and strong numerical accuracy.

Soft Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and drive business performance in a fast-paced environment.
