The Big Picture
The Project Manager will lead complex projects across multiple geographies. This role requires strategic planning, vendor management, cross-functional leadership, and operational execution to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with optimal quality.
What you can expect as a Project Manager at Illumine-i:
1. Project Planning & Development

You’ll define project scope, feasibility, and technical requirements in coordination with engineering, development, and operations teams.

You’ll collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to finalize specifications and assess constructability.

You’ll conduct constructability reviews and evaluate logistics, site conditions, layouts, and commissioning readiness.

You’ll support permitting and interconnection processes with utilities and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).
2. Budgeting, Estimating & Scheduling

You’ll develop and manage CAPEX and OPEX budgets, including detailed cost estimates and contingency planning.

You’ll create and maintain project schedules and staffing plans to ensure timely execution.

You’ll track and report progress against budget, schedule, and HSE standards.
3. Procurement & Contracting

You’ll prepare RFPs and bid packages for major equipment (e.g., generators, switchgear, transformers, BESS containers) and subcontractors.

You’ll evaluate vendor proposals and assist in negotiations to ensure competitive pricing and scope alignment.

You’ll execute full buyout of project scopes with clear contract terms and risk mitigation strategies.
4. Execution & Construction Oversight

You’ll supervise construction activities through field staff and subcontractors, ensuring quality and safety compliance.

You’ll allocate responsibilities and manage resource needs including manpower, equipment, and materials.

You’ll maintain inventory levels and ensure timely delivery of critical components.
5. Reporting & Documentation

You’ll maintain accurate project documentation including meeting minutes, daily reports, schedules, and financial trackers.

You’ll provide senior leadership with regular updates on project health, risks, and mitigation plans.

You’ll prepare turnover packages for seamless transition from development to execution.
6. Risk & Stakeholder Management

You’ll identify and mitigate risks related to schedule, permitting, supply chain, and constructability.

You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with development, finance, legal, engineering, and external stakeholders (utilities, OEMs, contractors).
Essential Qualifications include:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, or related field; MBA preferred.

8+ years of experience managing large-scale projects, preferably in construction, engineering, or sustainable technology sectors.

Proven experience in vendor management, including selection, negotiation, and performance monitoring.

Strong project management skills with expertise in Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with global teams and external partners.

Proficiency in project management tools, CRM systems, and reporting platforms.

Experience managing multi-location and cross-cultural teams is highly desirable.
