Summary

We are representing an established civil engineering firm seeking a Municipal Engineer / Project Manager to lead infrastructure projects for municipalities and public agencies. This role is responsible for managing public works projects from planning and design through construction, while serving as the primary point of contact for municipal clients. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, leadership ability, and experience presenting in public settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main client manager for assigned municipalities and public agencies

  • Act as the single point of contact between the firm and municipal stakeholders

  • Oversee and coordinate multiple infrastructure projects to ensure client satisfaction

  • Design and manage public infrastructure projects including roads, underground utilities, public buildings, parks, and recreational facilities

  • Prepare engineering designs, calculations, and specifications using CAD tools

  • Estimate quantities, costs, and project feasibility

  • Review surveys, plans, reports, and development applications submitted by private developers

  • Attend public meetings in the capacity of Municipal Engineer or Land Use Board Engineer

  • Prepare and present public reports related to bids, project updates, and development reviews

  • Provide technical guidance during construction and support inspection staff

  • Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements

  • Identify project risks and support mitigation strategies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution

  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required

  • 10+ years of experience in civil or municipal engineering

  • Experience managing infrastructure projects for municipalities or public agencies

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including public presentations

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and client relationships simultaneously

  • Proficiency with CAD and engineering design software

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Work Environment

  • Combination of office and field work

  • Attendance at municipal meetings required

  • Periodic site visits and construction coordination
