Confidential Hire: Project Manager - Oil & Gas (EPC)

They are now seeking an experienced and highly capable Project Manager to lead major EPC projects from concept through to completion. This confidential, high impact position offers the opportunity to influence strategy, lead multidisciplinary teams, and drive operational excellence across all phases of project execution.

Scope of Role

The Project Manager will serve as the primary authority for all project related activities, ensuring delivery within agreed scope, schedule, budget, and compliance frameworks. This leadership role requires strong stakeholder management, commercial acumen, and a commitment to world class execution standards.

Key Responsibilities Project Planning & Execution
  • Develop fully integrated project execution plans and strategies.
  • Define project scope, key deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Lead project kick off sessions ensuring alignment across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee day to day project activities to maintain schedule and performance targets.
Budgeting & Cost Control
  • Prepare, forecast, and manage project budgets and cash flow.
  • Implement and enforce cost control measures.
  • Review and approve variations, claims, and change requests.
Scheduling & Progress Monitoring
  • Develop and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project.
  • Track critical paths, milestones, and schedule risks.
  • Provide accurate progress reporting to senior leadership and project sponsors.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure full adherence to ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and client specifications.
  • Work closely with QA/QC and HSE teams during audits, inspections, and reviews.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives across project delivery.
Stakeholder & Interface Management
  • Act as the key liaison between clients, contractors, vendors, and internal departments.
  • Manage expectations effectively to ensure strong client satisfaction.
  • Deliver regular technical and commercial updates to leadership teams.
Risk & Issue Management
  • Identify risks and develop robust mitigation strategies.
  • Resolve disputes, deviations, and delays efficiently.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of claims, variations, and contractual communications.
Resource Leadership
  • Allocate manpower, materials, and equipment optimally.
  • Mentor, evaluate, and support project team members.
  • Coordinate effectively with engineering, procurement, and construction divisions.
Required Experience & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Instrumentation Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 15+ years' experience in Oil & Gas / Refinery projects, including 5+ years in Project Management.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, and Primavera P6.
  • PMP / PRINCE2 certification is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of international codes and standards (API, ASME, ISO, etc.).
