Program Description

CERP is an organization founded by renowned Pakistani academics in 2008 providing consulting, policy and advisory and economic analysis services to public and private sector in Pakistan. We do this by undertaking rigorous quantitative research, acquiring industry knowledge and building capacity for evidence-based decision and policy making. CERP’s principal investigators include leading economists form Pakistan and abord including Nobel laureates and leading private sector practitioners.

CERP Analytics and Systems practice is expanding and pushing the envelope of traditional economic research to combine multiple disciplines, quantitative analysis, qualitative research, behavioral insights and human centered design to drive our core philosophy to use evidence and insights in a wide variety of business and public sector settings including but not limited to decision making, market research, risk analysis, digital transformation and process, product and systems development.

Job Description

CERP is seeking a proactive individual who is motivated, quick learner, self-confident, persistent, has relevant skills and a continuous learner to fill this role. While the core skill required in this position is a training in policy or econometrics, the individual should be interested in broadening his/her skillset to include wider disciplines of systems thinking and human centered design. You will be responsible for motivating, mentoring and managing a project delivery team. You will also be expected to roll up your sleeves when needed and own and delivery some of the project tasks.

The job responsibilities include:

• Analyze data to answer questions, draw insights and intelligence pertinent to an industry or segment. Use the insights and intelligence to make strategic and operational recommendations.
• Work with senior members of the Analytics team to develop efficient work plans, identify items on the critical path and develop project risk mitigation strategies. Manage the workplan and assign work to other team members.
• Provide leadership to a team of Analysts and Associates to ensure successful project delivery while keeping them motivated.
• Interface with the client, lead planning and status calls, manage client relationship and lead project delivery to client’s satisfaction.
• Ability to multi-task and effectively deliver project tasks individually and through team members.
• Ability to visualize, analyze and conceive efficient systems and system components to solve economic, business and human problems.

Qualifications and Skills

• Master's/Bachelor's in Economics, Social Sciences, Public Policy, or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
• Motivated individual with a strong desire to professionally grow and progressively assume more responsibility
• Willing to learn multiple skills and grow to become a program manager
• Interest in systems thinking and how systems can be made efficient to interact with humans to solve problems and provide service.
• Must have previous experience and ability to evaluate instruments for data gathering and judge the quality of analysis and insights produced by Analysts and Associates on the team. If required, brush up on econometrics and data analysis skillset.
• Quality-conscious and detail-oriented.
• Ability to see around the corners and anticipate project delivery issues and client needs.
• Team player who is willing to lead by example.
• Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills. Ability to read a large amount of text, distill text into main ideas, and write clearly and persuasively.
• Develop and deliver presentations on project findings, status, and results to clients and stakeholders.
• Fluency in English and Urdu, and willingness to travel within Pakistan
