Experience Required: 10–20 years in water resources or heavy civil infrastructure projects
Educational Qualification:
- B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering (Mandatory)
- M.Tech in Water Resources / Structural Engineering (Preferred)
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage end-to-end execution of barrage construction projects, including planning, design coordination, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
- Prepare and monitor project schedules, resource planning, and budget estimates to ensure timely completion within cost and quality standards.
- Coordinate with design consultants, structural engineers, hydrology teams, and government stakeholders for approvals and compliance.
- Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and design documents to ensure alignment with site execution.
- Monitor site activities to ensure adherence to safety protocols, construction quality, and environmental regulations.
- Manage contracts, sub-contractors, vendors, and site staff for smooth project execution.
- Ensure regular reporting of project progress, delays, risks, and mitigation plans to senior management and clients.
- Liaise with government departments, local authorities, and statutory bodies to secure necessary permits and resolve issues.
- Implement risk management practices to identify and address project bottlenecks or technical challenges.
- Ensure proper documentation of quality checks, daily site reports, inspection records, and client correspondence.
Key Skills:
- Strong project planning & execution skills (Primavera/MS Project)
- Deep understanding of hydraulic structures, river training works, cofferdams, and concrete/masonry structures
- Knowledge of relevant codes: IS, IRC, BIS guidelines
- Contract and vendor management (FIDIC/CPWD formats preferred)
- Leadership and team coordination
- Communication and problem-solving abilities
- Exposure to environmental and safety norms related to water infrastructure projects
Preferred Background:
- Prior experience in construction of barrages, weirs, dams, canal headworks, or similar water infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with government project execution models (EPC, item-rate contracts, etc.)
