Marc Ellis is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a high stakes cloud migration initiative for a major banking client in the UAE. This role is crucial for overseeing the migration of five enterprise applications from AWS to Azure, ensuring compliance with security, governance, and regulatory frameworks in a highly controlled environment.

Detailed Job Description

As the Cloud Migration Project Manager, you will take ownership of end to end planning, execution, and delivery of an AWS to Azure migration program. You will collaborate with cloud architects, security teams, application owners, and vendors to drive seamless migration activities while minimizing business impact. This role requires strong experience in managing cloud transitions, deep familiarity with enterprise banking environments, and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder ecosystems. You will be responsible for timelines, risk management, governance reporting, and ensuring every migration meets compliance and security standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the full lifecycle of cloud migration projects (AWS Azure)
• Manage project timelines, budgets, risks, and migration milestones
• Coordinate across architecture, DevOps, security, application, and infrastructure teams
• Oversee assessment, planning, testing, and cutover execution for application migrations
• Ensure compliance with banking regulatory, cybersecurity, and cloud governance frameworks
• Facilitate daily/weekly status meetings with internal and external stakeholders
• Prepare migration documentation, dashboards, and progress reports
• Manage vendor interactions and ensure timely delivery of migration components
• Identify blockers and proactively drive risk mitigation strategies

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Proven experience leading AWS Azure migration projects
• Strong background in enterprise cloud transformation programs
• Experience working within regulated industries (Banking/Financial Services preferred)
• Solid understanding of cloud architecture, migration frameworks, and security controls
• Excellent stakeholder, vendor, and communication management skills
• Skilled in project governance, documentation, and executive reporting
• Ability to manage multiple parallel workstreams under tight deadlines

Nice to Have Skills

• Cloud certifications (Azure/AWS)
• Experience with tools like Azure Migrate, CloudEndure, Terraform, or DevOps pipelines
• Familiarity with banking regulatory standards in the GCC region
