Project Manager I

Job Summary:

The Project Manager I is responsible for managing day-to-day project activities and supporting operational goals within UniTek Global Services. This role focuses on coordinating technicians, maintaining customer satisfaction, and ensuring compliance with company policies. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination:

  • Oversee daily operations and technician scheduling.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies regarding safety, assets, and production.

Customer Service & Communication:

  • Provide exemplary customer service to our customers, corporate leadership, and field teams.
  • Deliver regular status updates and manage scope changes for assigned projects.

Financial & Reporting Duties:

  • Monitor project financials and prepare reports for management.
  • Assist in budgeting and cost control for assigned projects.

Team Support:

  • Train and mentor team members on proper work and safety procedures.
  • Troubleshoot technical, personnel, and project-related challenges.
  • Collaborate with senior management to define scope for larger projects and rollouts.

Other Duties:

  • Perform customer follow-up on inquiries and completed projects.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by leadership.

Salary Range:

$75,000 to $105,000

Bonus: Eligible for performance incentive opportunities of up to 5% of salary, based on company and individual goals and performance.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Business or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • PMP or CAPM certification preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of telecommunications, VoIP, satellite systems, routers, networking, and cabling.
  • Experience with telecommunication dispatching and managing multiple projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Soft Skills:

  • Ability to lead, motivate, and train teams.
  • Strong customer orientation and problem-solving skills.
  • Financial understanding and ability to interpret project indicators.
  • Excellent organizational and presentation skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift up to 65 lbs. of equipment and tools
  • May be required to work long and unpredictable hours
  • Travel required up to 50% of the time
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing
  • Strong command of the English language required
