Project Manager III

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager III to support the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) and the Department of Technology, Management, and Budget (DTMB). This role involves leading large-scale, high-visibility IT projects that require advanced project management expertise and coordination among multiple teams and stakeholders.

You will oversee strategic initiatives that have a significant impact at the agency executive level, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and stakeholder satisfaction. The ideal candidate has a proven record managing complex IT software or infrastructure projects, particularly in Agile environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee complex IT projects involving 50+ team members.
• Manage project scope, schedule, and budget to ensure successful outcomes.
• Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and performance deliverables.
• Collaborate with executive leadership and multiple stakeholder groups.
• Participate in or write Statements of Work (SOWs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and contracts.
• Apply Agile project management methodologies to deliver projects efficiently.
• Provide regular status reports, risk assessments, and mitigation plans.

Qualifications

Required:

• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience as a Project Manager for IT software or infrastructure projects with 50+ team members.
• Advanced experience managing Agile projects.
• Strong background in vendor management and contract oversight.
• Proven ability to manage complex project budgets and schedules.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred:

• PMP Certification.
• Experience working in a government or public sector environment.

Additional Information

• Duration: 1-year contract with possible extension.
• Location: Hybrid in Lansing, MI (must be within a 90-minute commute).
• Work Arrangement: Onsite Tuesdays and Wednesdays; remote the remaining days.
• Interviews: Candidates must be willing to attend in-person interviews in Lansing, MI.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $70.00 - $75.00 per hour
