1. Position Summary
The Project Manager – Drone Industrial Inspection is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering drone-based inspection projects across industrial sectors such as oil & gas, power plants, wind farms, solar plants, telecom towers, construction, and infrastructure.
The role involves technical oversight, client coordination, regulatory compliance, safety management, and ensuring project delivery within scope, time, and budget.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Project Planning & Execution
- Plan and manage end-to-end drone inspection projects.
- Define project scope, deliverables, timelines, and resource allocation.
- Prepare project schedules and risk assessments.
- Coordinate site surveys and feasibility analysis.
- Ensure timely mobilization of drone teams and equipment.
B. Technical Oversight
- Supervise drone operations for:
- Thermal inspections
- Structural inspections
- Mapping & 3D modeling
- Confined space inspections
- Ensure correct sensor selection (RGB, Thermal, LiDAR, Multispectral).
- Validate data quality and inspection reports before client submission.
- Oversee data processing and analytics.
C. Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as primary point of contact for industrial clients.
- Conduct project kickoff meetings and technical discussions.
- Provide progress updates and final project presentations.
- Handle client escalations professionally.
D. Compliance & Safety
- Ensure adherence to DGCA drone regulations and local aviation rules.
- Maintain documentation for flight permissions and approvals.
- Implement strict safety protocols at industrial sites.
- Conduct pre-flight risk assessments and safety briefings.
E. Team Management
- Lead drone pilots, data analysts, and technical staff.
- Assign roles and monitor performance.
- Provide operational guidance and training support.
- Ensure discipline and SOP compliance on-site.
F. Budget & Reporting
- Monitor project costs and resource utilization.
- Prepare project reports, MIS, and performance summaries.
- Maintain documentation and audit records.
3. Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Civil / Aeronautical or related field).
- Certified Drone Pilot (DGCA Remote Pilot Certificate preferred).
4. Experience
- 4–7 years of experience in industrial inspection, infrastructure projects, or drone operations.
- Experience handling industrial clients such as power plants, oil & gas, telecom, or renewable energy sectors.
- Proven experience managing technical field teams.
5. Technical Skills
- Knowledge of UAV platforms (Multirotor / Fixed-wing).
- Experience with thermal cameras, LiDAR, and inspection payloads.
- Proficiency in software such as:
- Pix4D / Drone Deploy
- AutoCAD
- GIS tools
- Thermal analysis software
- Understanding of industrial safety standards.
